The Forest Industry Taskforce Core Group members met together for two days in Parkville on the 11th and 12th of May 2016.
The Taskforce members progressed their thinking about the future by considering key drivers currently at play across the key sectors. This was done through discussions on the concerns and needs of key stakeholders from the forest, fibre and wood products industry, unions and forest conservation groups.
It involved considering alternate futures – one frame characterised by a continuation of “business as usual” and the other frame characterised by elements and changing key drivers that will be necessary for a durable, long-term agreement.
The group also received expert advice related to some of the Areas of Inquiry.
The Taskforce Core Group will next meet on the 25th and 26th of May.
